this is the list of songs i put in my playlist!

originally, i wanted to put only 10ish songs on it, but i got carried away because music really is my safe haven

this is a mix of songs i listen to on a daily basis (for now at least), songs i love, and some of them are a few of my ultimate favs ever.

some of them are here, because i'm nostalgic, others because i can't imagine creating a blog that's supposed to be me without those songs, some others are even here just for the vibe of the blog! but all those songs are favs of mine in one way or another<3

9. wish - ailey rain underrated masterpiece, i listen to it when i try to work on liquid gold (to republish it)!
10. the precipice - jessie mazin very specific but i love singing that one, i find it easy and satisfying, and the lyrics are so poetic, her voice is beautiful 
11. bags - clairo ♡ this is my favorite by clairo, i used to listen to it a lot in high school because i could relate to it in a way, and it's so SOFT
12. so proud - cece natalie this one is for the vibes for sure, i found it while watching edits😭
13. b2b - charli xcx for the vibes but omg it reminds me of the arcane season 2 era when people edited jinx with it! i love it as an edit sound (i used to be an editor so this makes sense bahaha)
14. ayo technology - 50 cent i love this genre of music it just sounds good, awesome noises all around "YOU GOT ME SAYING AYOOO IM TIRED OF USING TECHNOLOGY"
15. heaven can wait - mj ♡ i fell in love with that one when i heard a boy group sing it....then i listened to it fully and fell in love with the lyrics
16. dream of you - beabadoobee ♡ i love everything about this song, it makes me feel so fuzzy inside
17. hasta cuando - kali uchis so soothing, and the baddie lyrics at the end eat
18. igual que un angel - kali uchis again, super specific, but i saw a girl on tiktok rollerskating on this song and i was mesmerized and loved the song, so i listened to it for days afterwards

20. flatline - justin bieber ♡ i have no words, this song brings out the very worst in me. i love it

23. boys, bugs and men - paris paloma ♡ paris is a lyrical genius and her songs mean the world to me. she managed to encapsulate what it's like to be raised socially as a girl
24. yeti - paris paloma ♡ the second song i ever heard from her, recommended by one of my readers, and i've never stopped listening to it since
25. last woman on earth - paris paloma ♡ this song is beautiful in a way that hurts a little. it came out while i was writing chapter 20 of liquid gold (which was the last chapter i wrote), and it helped shape it so much. again, she is a genius, i love her lyricism, and how she portrays being a woman in today's world in such a terribly accurate way
26. as good a reason - paris paloma i don't know why i think of fleabag when i listen to this song? the scene in season 2 where she's talking with the woman in business. "every time you are succeeding, there's an old man somewhere seething, and spite's as good a reason to take his power"!!!
27. plight - faunavision deserves way more hype. i saw one tiktok of them, added it to my playlist because it reminded me of the songs i like in one tree hill, very 2000s vibe, and it became a fav of mine
28. heavy - the marias one time (back when i still used spotify, before it funded ICE and AI), i unintentionally left it playing on my ipad and "listened" to it 523 times LOL
29. better - khalid REMINDS ME OF SUMMER 2017 AND 2018 AND 2019😭😭it sounds so good
30. my girl - isabel larosa ♡ came out right after i finished writing The Fine Art of Kissing a Girl Friend and LOVEDDDD IT. it just sounds so dreamy yk?
31. house of cards - bts i saw one edit of a guy i didn't even know with this song and i was like "sound sexy i'm in"
32. dirty diana - mj this reminds me of my sister (a forever mj fan) when we played michael jackson just dance on the wii console :((

36. angel - massive attack this reminds me of Isidora....i listen to it when i read liquid gold, it's captivating and sounds so mysterious idk (also dominant woman vibes right?)

46. last breath/the reason - chris grey ♡ yk that post i made saying i can't listen to my fav songs bc i love them too much? this is one of them LOL, haven't listened to it in months but i was obsessed with it when it came out and listened to it for weeks without getting tired of it. i consumed this song so much I AM THIS SONG.
47. poltergeist - allegra jordyn ♡ my favorite from her!! it's so intense and beautifully written and the sounds are to die for
48. bruised - allegra jordyn to me this song is about crushing the male ego so this is my why
49. cruel intentions - allegra jordyn fun fact, the concert i went to see (check my very first post it's what i'm referencing) was chris grey, and she was his first part, i heard her sing this song and fell in love. she bewitched me i'm being so serious, seeing it live was incredible!
50. beaches - beabadoobee this one is funny actually, i used to play the karaoke game on roblox and only knew how to sing the part on the game, i got curious and listened to it entirely and just loved it, so yeah (i love beabadoobee)
51. the subway - chappell roan i love to sing this and pretend i'm grieving a relationship that never happened (with a woman ofc)

67. rules - doja cat i think this was my first favorite of doja, i love learning "fast" songs it's so satisfying to sing lol

71. she's my religion - pale waves i found this one while looking for wlw songs to write the FAKGF (i'd never written wlw before and wanted it to be decent at the very least) and i never stopped listening to it bc it's just that good! 72. miniskirt - aoa i love the instrumentals and the meaning of the lyrics i thought were so cool, and the dance is so fun
73. ice cream - hyuna i found this at maybe 11? gangnam style dropped and then he dropped a music video with hyuna i couldn't stop watching (first sign of homo perhaps), so i looked into her a little and found this song.
74. bubble pop - hyuna same for this one. the nostalgia hits in the best way with these two
75. genie in a bottle - christina aguilera saw an edit of penelope with this back when season 3 of bridgerton just dropped and fell in love with the song all over again! edit truly are the best thing in the world

94. at the beach, in every life - gigi perez i was so mad hearing this song in the heartstopper movie. THEY HAVE PLENTY OF REP WHILE WE HAVE TO BEG FOR SCRAPS. THIS SONG IS NOT FOR YOU. i have a very real problem with mlm media being adored while wlw media goes unnoticed or is hated on for no valid reason. gay men are still men, they will always get more. i hate it here
95. girls like girls - hayley kiyoko 2016 all over again. i watched the movie (pirated it lol) and it was devastating i loved it. "GIRLS LIKE GIRLS LIKE BOYS DO!!"
96. novacane - frank ocean this is what i listened to while writing Our Best Friend is a Fucking Idiot. not sure why, the lyrics are complete nonesense and unrelated to the story i was writing, but the way it sounds really helped
97. obsessed - mariah carey forever an eminem hater he's a weirdo fr this song is iconic
98. kill bill - sza when liquid gold was still just an idea i had brainstormed, this song was one of my pillars to create their dynamic, Isidora obviously being the deadly one who's a menace to Eros

105. take a hint - victoria justice and elizabeth gillies BEST SONG IN VICTORIOUS it was so great to put a song like this in a nickelodeon show, it still hits so good, i have my ship singing it together being in love!

171. softcore - the neighbourhood don't know how to say this without sounding insufferable but i used to listen to this one all day and then it went viral on tiktok, and seeing it get so...unappreciated by how much people used it for stupid stuff made me stop listening to it altogether. it was truly one of my most liked songs until that
172. the beach - the neighbourhood ♡ one of the songs i can't listen to bc i love it so much. i love the ocean and the beach, it's where i feel the most human and the most free. i genuinely forget everything and just feel, and it's so liberating. we were never meant to live like this, when we have literal paradise on earth. this song makes me feel understood in a world where i get misunderstood on a daily basis.
173. void - the neighbourhood ♡ i LOVE this song. to get the creative juices flowing, i usually only listen to songs that fit the vibe of the book i'm working on WHEN i'm working on it, and this song fits a book i've been wanting to write since i finished liquid gold (so october 2024). i stop myself from listening to it because it would be torture. i feel the urge to write the book but i CANT. IT WONT GET OUT.
